Completion date: Oct. 1957. (Per German Title: 28 Feb. 1957)
Color exterior: Aubergine, a beautiful dark purple, or in
Italian 'Eggplant' (originally: Metallic red #MM16244).
According to Lee, when the car underwent restoration,
the car was stripped down to metal and in the headlight
buckets, underneath a coat of white paint, was this
'aubergine' color. The car has been restored to 'aubergine'

Comments: This is one of the four cars that had the pretty front
side vents that became standard on the California spyders.
As well, when the car was returned to the Ferrari Factory to
be fitted with the new engine, it was also fitted with disc
brakes and Jaeger gauges and unusual Anza exhaust outlets
"banana exhausts" which were piped through the rear
bumperettes. Unique and beautiful looking.

chrome side vents and covered headlights
~The car was returned to the Ferrari Factory after the Paris
Show. At this time, At this time, the car was fitted with a
new engine. #0737 GT. Factory Build Sheets and letters
from the Ferrari Factory (see Ferrari documents & letters
elsewhere on this page confirming this). The car was
delivered new with disc brakes beautiful Jaeger gauges
and lovely one-off Anza exhaust outlets which were piped
through the rear bumperettes.

~In 1958 sold new to Madam Villard (France)
~Then to Mr. Vizelle (Bollard, France)
~Then in August 1988 sold to John Ridings Lee (Dallas, Texas)
~Then on 16 March 2001 sold to Carl-Gustav Diederichs
via Axel Schuette
~Then in May 2004 Sold to Mark Ketcham
~Later sold to current owner
As noted above, the car was the was the 1957 Paris Show Car and had numerous bespoke features for original owner Mrs. Villard, including, but not limited to: Disc brakes, Anza "banana exhausts" which were piped through the rear bumperettes, slotted rear tail lights. Stunning looking front sail panel vents, beautiful leather flap pockets on the interior doors, etc., etc. Truly a stunning looking car. Well sorted and nice to drive.
